Frequently Asked Questions
Where does hvNavigator work?
Base heavy vehicle routing is available in New Zealand and Australia. Full network and permit-aware navigation — where hvNavigator automatically ingests and applies your overweight permits — is currently available in New Zealand, with additional permit markets in development.

What devices does it work on?
Any device with a web browser; Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, IOS
Â
Where is my information stored?
HvNavigator is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the closest regional node. For New Zealand customers, this is Auckland.

Is it secure?
Yes. The front end that appears on your mobile device is hosted on Azure Static Web Apps and protected with a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate. Each user must log in to access the service.
Â
The back-end database is hosted on an Azure Virtual Machine. Hard drives use Encryption at Rest, and the database itself is encrypted. We only request the minimal data necessary for operation.

How many heavy vehicles and permits can I submit?
There is no limit to the number of heavy vehicles you can register in HvNavigator, nor to the number of permit regions per vehicle. If you have permits for adjoining regions, you may also submit these to be added.

Does every user of HvNavigator require a personal login?
Absolutely. Each user must have their own login credentials.Â

How does onboarding work?
Onboarding begins when you sign up your company using the buttons on our home page. A 30-day free trial is included with the fleet plan.
Â
If you wish to continue beyond the trial, subscription payments must begin before the end of the 30-day period. If not, your access will be disabled and your data will be removed from our servers.
